    Crude Rapeseed Oil

Crude Rapeseed Oil – Vegetable Oil Feedstock product from Bio Green Fuels

    About This Product

Crude rapeseed oil is expressed and extracted from the seed of Brassica napus and supplied unrefined, usually degummed. It carries CAS number 8002-13-9. In European biodiesel it is the benchmark feedstock, to the point that rapeseed methyl ester, RME, is often quoted as the reference product against which other FAME grades are compared. That position rests on cold flow. Its fatty acid profile is roughly 60 percent oleic, 20 percent linoleic and only about 7 percent saturated, the lowest saturated content of any major oil crop. Saturated chains are the ones that crystallise first and block filters, so a feedstock carrying few of them produces a fuel with a low cloud point and a cold filter plugging point that works through a northern European winter without heavy additive treatment. Palm FAME cannot do this. The cost of that low saturation is reduced oxidation stability, since the linoleic and alpha-linolenic fractions carry two and three double bonds respectively, so RME requires antioxidant treatment to meet the 8-hour induction period demanded by EN 14214. It is used for FAME biodiesel, hydrotreated renewable diesel, HEFA aviation pathways and as an industrial oleochemical feedstock. Bio Green Fuels supplies crude rapeseed oil to specification on free fatty acid, moisture and impurities, phosphorus, iodine value and colour, with ISCC certification available.
